President Donald Trump didn’t hold back.
“They’re crooked as hell. Maybe they have to pay the price for that.”
That’s what Trump told Fox’s Peter Doocy on Wednesday when asked about former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, who are now under active criminal investigation by the FBI for potential wrongdoing tied to the Russia probe.
Trump called them out as “very dishonest people” who “politicized intelligence to undermine my presidency,” vowing that “whatever happens, happens.”

FBI Criminal Investigations Opened
Fox News Digital confirmed that FBI Director Kash Patel has opened a criminal investigation into Brennan after CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred evidence for potential prosecution. DOJ sources told Fox News the investigation centers on whether Brennan lied to Congress and manipulated intelligence during the 2016 “Russia hoax.”
As for Comey, DOJ sources confirmed an investigation is also underway, although specifics remain under wraps. Two sources described the FBI’s view of Brennan and Comey’s actions as a “conspiracy,” opening the door to a wider set of charges.
Neither Brennan nor Comey responded to Fox News requests for comment. The FBI and CIA also declined to comment.

The Steele Dossier Bombshell
Last week, CIA Director Ratcliffe declassified a “lessons learned” review of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), which was ordered by Obama just before Trump’s inauguration. The review found the ICA was rushed, riddled with procedural anomalies, and corrupted by political appointees who ignored career CIA warnings.
Key finding:
“The decision by agency heads to include the Steele Dossier in the ICA ran counter to fundamental tradecraft principles and ultimately undermined the credibility of a key judgment.”
The Steele Dossier, paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC, was packed with false, unverified anti-Trump smears. It has since been widely discredited, but Comey and Brennan pushed it into the ICA anyway, enabling the media and Democrats to falsely paint Trump as a Russian asset for years.

Trump: The Russia Hoax Damaged America
President Trump has long called the Russia investigation a “rigged witch hunt.” On Wednesday, he told reporters:
“I think they’re very dishonest people. I think they’re crooked as hell. And, maybe they have to pay a price for that.”
Trump has repeatedly said the “Russia hoax” was designed to sabotage his presidency and damage U.S. relations with Russia.
The Mueller investigation, which stemmed from the Obama-Brennan-Comey ICA, found “insufficient evidence” of any criminal conspiracy between Trump’s campaign and Russia, confirming what Trump said all along.

Durham’s Prior Investigation Didn’t Go Far Enough
During Trump’s first term, Special Counsel John Durham investigated the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane probe, including the Steele dossier’s role. Durham exposed serious FBI missteps and obtained convictions of three lower-level FBI officials, but concluded there was no illegal conduct by Comey or Brennan.
Now, under Trump’s second term and with Kash Patel leading the FBI, the investigation is back on, with real potential accountability in sight.

Remember “8647”
In May 2025, Trump called out Comey over a now-deleted social media post showing seashells arranged to read “8647,” which many interpreted as a veiled call for assassination (8/6/47 is the CIA’s founding date). Trump said Comey “knew what he was doing” and accused him of inciting violence. Comey claimed ignorance but took down the post after backlash.
It was a chilling reminder of the hatred the corrupt intelligence establishment has for President Trump.

Why This Matters
- Brennan and Comey knowingly used a fake dossier to justify spying on a presidential candidate and fuel a media-driven coup attempt.
- They ignored career CIA analysts who warned the dossier was garbage.
- They testified falsely to Congress while pushing the collusion narrative.
Trump’s leadership and the new investigations may finally bring the accountability that the American people deserve.
“The only way to stop the swamp is to expose it and hold the corrupt accountable,” Trump said.

The Reckoning Is Here
Brennan and Comey thought they could get away with it. Now, under Trump’s second term, the FBI has opened criminal probes into their actions.
This isn’t just about justice for Trump. It’s about protecting the integrity of America’s elections and ensuring no deep state actors ever undermine a duly elected president again.
Stay tuned. The swamp is shaking.
