The FBI has arrested Suffolk County Sheriff Steven Tompkins – a long-serving Democrat in deep-blue Massachusetts – on charges of federal extortion. This isn’t a story about a minor mistake. Thank God we have a real Department of Justice under President Trump that is finally unafraid to go after the corrupt political machines that have run our cities into the ground for decades.

The allegations against Sheriff Tompkins read like something out of a mob movie. Prosecutors say he used the power and authority of his badge to shake down a new cannabis company for personal profit.
It was a simple and greasy scheme: he allegedly used his department’s official “partnership” with the company as leverage to get them to sell him $50,000 in special pre-IPO shares.
Then, when the stock price dropped, he allegedly used his power again to demand they refund his entire investment, protecting him from any losses.
This is the definition of a rigged system – a Democrat official who believes he is entitled to all of the reward with none of the risk, all because of the power of his office.
Trump’s DOJ is Cleaning House
This arrest didn’t just happen. It happened because President Trump has put patriots in charge of our justice system who are finally focused on real crime.
For years under weak leadership, the DOJ was used to spy on President Trump’s campaign and persecute his supporters. Now, under this new administration, the FBI is being unleashed to do its actual job: rooting out and prosecuting public corruption, no matter which party the criminal belongs to.
This is what it looks like when the rule of law is finally restored.
The Bottom Line: The Rot Runs Deep
Of course, the Sheriff is presumed innocent until proven guilty. But the allegations fit a pattern that has become all too familiar within the Democratic party – a belief that public office is a tool for personal enrichment.
