“The gravy train is over,” said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. “We’re done letting radical blue states prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens.”

CAPI — a California program designed to give monthly cash to non-citizens who don’t qualify for federal SSI — is under fire for allegedly using federal Medicaid loopholes to bankroll benefits for people in this country illegally.
According to the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC), California has exploited these loopholes to snatch up nearly $19 billion in federal funds, with nearly $4 billion redirected to healthcare and programs for illegal immigrants. The subpoenas demand full CAPI application and payout records — and if it turns out that illegal migrants got cash, California could lose billions in federal grants and face civil or criminal penalties under the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA).
