Under President Trumpโs renewed leadership, law and order is back โ and this Memorial Day weekend proved it. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) launched a coordinated sweep across major U.S. cities, rounding up criminal migrants who slipped through the cracks during the prior administration.
While Biden-era policies weakened border security and handcuffed law enforcement, the Trump administration has re-energized ICE, restoring the tools needed to protect American families. And over the holiday weekend, they used them.
From Gang Members to Predators โ ICE Cleans House
From Boston to San Francisco, ICEโs Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) teams took action, capturing illegal migrants whoโve been terrorizing communities for years. These arenโt harmless border crossers โ theyโre convicted gang members, child predators, and drug dealers who had no business being in this country.

- Boston: Agents arrested 18-year-old Kevin Estuarde Hernandez from Guatemala, who local police say is part of the violent 18th Street gang. He was linked to a gang shootout involving MS-13.
- Denver: Jose Antonio Deras of El Salvador โ in the U.S. illegally since 2008 โ has a long rap sheet and faces felony charges for sexually assaulting a child.
- Houston: ICE re-arrested Misael Delgado-Carlos from Mexico, a repeat illegal offender with a conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
- Newark: Eduardo Sanchez-Hernandez entered illegally and is now facing charges for sexually abusing a child under 13.
- New York City: Litzy Janel Saavedra has a prior rape conviction and was caught once again in the U.S. illegally.
- Salt Lake City: Jose Barrios-Bello, another previously deported Mexican national, had already been convicted of meth distribution and sentenced to 15 years.
- San Francisco: ICE took down Carlos Torres Valdovinos, who had a felony conviction for a sex crime against a child. Thankfully, ICE has already removed him to Mexico.
Trump Administration Restores Accountability
Under President Trump, ICE is no longer muzzled. These arrests are a direct result of renewed directives allowing federal immigration agents to prioritize public safety over political correctness.
Most of these criminals had been ordered removed years ago but slipped through under soft-on-crime policies. That ended when President Trump returned to office and reinstated a zero-tolerance approach to illegal entry, especially for violent offenders.
Why This Sweep Matters
President Trump was right all along. Weak borders bring crime. But with ICE still doing the hard work, and with a strong America First agenda returning to Washington, thereโs hope.
This weekendโs crackdown shows exactly what happens when you empower law enforcement to do their jobs without interference from radical activists or sanctuary city politicians.
These werenโt people โseeking a better life.โ They were criminals hiding behind a broken system โ and under Trump, that system is getting fixed.
ICEโs operation is a promise kept: to protect Americans, defend our borders, and prioritize citizens over cartels, traffickers, and predators.
This is what leadership looks like.
