On Truth Social, President Trump declared that this outdated Senate rule is a “disaster,” preventing his “eight GREAT Republican U.S. Attorney Candidates” from serving states that overwhelmingly voted for him. This is a blatant attempt by the radical Left to block justice and undermine the will of the people!

President Trump is absolutely right: the “Blue Slip” tradition is a disaster! It allows just one Democrat Senator in a blue state to block a Republican President’s U.S. Attorney or District Court Judge nominee. This means that even if a state overwhelmingly votes for President Trump, the Deep State can prevent his chosen prosecutors from enforcing law and order. This is not fair, and it is not Constitutional!
Historically, “blue slips” were intended to provide a courtesy, not a veto power for a single senator to paralyze the judicial appointment process. Its weaponization by the Left is a clear abuse of power.
Halligan and Habba: Deep State Targets
This “Blue Slip” tyranny is already creating chaos, as Trump-appointed U.S. Attorneys like Lindsey Halligan in Virginia and Alina Habba in New Jersey face legal challenges designed to undermine their authority and toss out critical cases.
Halligan, a fearless patriot, brought indictments against Deep State figures like former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Now, the Left is trying to claim her appointment was improper to save their crooked allies! This is a disgrace! Similarly, Alina Habba, a fierce defender of President Trump, has seen her authority “called into question” by Democrat Senators who refuse to support her.
The Radical Left’s Loopholes and Sabotage
When Democrat Senators like Cory Booker and Andy Kim refused to support Habba, President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi used every legal loophole available to re-install her. They know that “it is utterly implausible that Congress intended the default to be that the President must rely on career officials who may disagree with his policies” to serve as acting political officers. The Deep State wants to control the prosecutors, not the President!
This is a desperate attempt by the radical Left to protect their corrupt establishment and prevent President Trump from draining the swamp. They are using every trick in the book to stop strong, conservative prosecutors from bringing justice to those who deserve it.
