THE RESULTS ARE IN: While the failed Democratic leaders of Washington, D.C. are busy crying to the media about an “authoritarian push,” President Donald J. Trump’s administration is doing exactly what he promised: making our nation’s capital safe again.
The results of the federal law-and-order crackdown are coming in, and they are nothing short of spectacular. In a triumphant announcement Tuesday morning, Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that in just one night, law enforcement made 52 arrests and took 9 firearms off the streets.
And who was one of those arrested? A violent MS-13 gang member. This is not “authoritarianism” – this is what it looks like to finally prioritize the safety of the American people.
‘Make DC Safe Again!’
The numbers speak for themselves. According to AG Bondi, since President Trump’s mission began, there have been a total of 465 arrests and 68 guns seized, with charges ranging from homicide and attempted murder to felony assault.
Most importantly, nearly half of these arrests are happening in the most high-crime areas of the city – the very neighborhoods that D.C.’s liberal leadership has abandoned.
As the White House spokesperson aptly stated, “Facts are stubborn things.” The fact is, President Trump’s plan is working.
The Pathetic Cries of Failed Leaders
As federal and local law enforcement are finally being unleashed to do their jobs, D.C.’s Democrat Mayor, Muriel Bowser, is complaining about an “intrusion on our autonomy.”
Her Attorney General, Brian Schwalb, is fear-mongering about “armed soldiers…policing American citizens.”
Their “autonomy” to let crime run rampant is exactly what created this crisis. Their protests are not about protecting democracy; they are the desperate cries of failed politicians who are angry that someone is finally cleaning up the dangerous mess they made.
They are more concerned with their own political power than with the safety of their citizens.
Ending the Sanctuary City Scam
One of the most crucial elements of this successful operation is AG Bondi’s bold move to supersede D.C.’s dangerous sanctuary city policies. For years, local police have been blocked from cooperating with federal immigration authorities, allowing criminal illegal aliens to be released back onto the streets.
That is now over. As DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin made clear, “Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States.” By forcing cooperation, President Trump and his team are ensuring that dangerous individuals – like the MS-13 member arrested Monday – are taken off our streets for good.

The Democrats can whine, and the protesters can march, but the results are undeniable. Hundreds of criminals are off the street, dozens of guns have been seized, and our nation’s capital is finally on the path to becoming safe again.
